Bonjour mes amis!
I’m quite excited to do this blog because it’s all about my travels again! Yaaaaay! I love blogging my whereabouts and thank goodness I have been given the free time to make this blog entry and share it with you because this moment is long overdue (sorry). Anyway, I had been blessed and favored to have a week of vacation break just before I end my journey in college. A lot of things happened on that short span of time and it was truly one of the best trips I have ever experienced! I'll try my best to not-write so much about this trip since this entry will be lengthy because of the numerous photo. So I'll try to let the pictures do the talking instead, but I can't promise. Haha!
MANILA
This is the photo of me with my beautiful cousin. Gosh I missed her so much! We used to fight like archnemesis when we were young but
grew up to be best of friends!
We, of course, indulged ourselves with food. Just like the old times. It was a great time catching with this graceful lady again.
We stayed for two nights at Manila Hotel. Inside the hotel lobby was like living in the Spanish Colonial Era or some sort and the food that they were serving were spectacularly delicious.
Then we went around China Town since it was Chinese New Year.
The spanish streets of Manila. A quick stop at Barbara's for their delectable selection of pastry. Barbara's also offer Spanish Continental and Asian Lunch buffet from 11 AM.
Of course, Luneta Park and that very controversial building behind it. Haha.
I cant help but notice the old-fashioned yet amazing facade of this building.
Of course, the journey in Manila wouldn't be complete without a trip to the past in Fort Santiago.
We had a ride on kalesa, history tour inside the Intramuros, a personal encounter with the relics of Dr. Jose Rizal at the Rizal Shrine and more! And wow, every corner of that place is #ootd slash blog worthy! Haha.
By the way, for your information, the Manila day which is being held every 24th of June marks the foundation of Intramuros and not the Manila we know today :)
A horse carriage tour around the fort for 50 pesos per person.
The Intramuros, Ladies and Gentlemen.
The walled city. This is the ruins of the original place where Dr. Rizal stayed before his execution.
Metal footsteps are engrave on the ground. This is to embed The Philippine National Hero's final steps as he walk to his death in Luneta Park on December 30 , 1896.
One of the significant things we experienced was our visit is the museum where the collection of almost everything Dr. Rizal used were placed. It includes the European clothes he used, his surgical tools, the clock which I actually have no idea about its history, his history and friends, his writings and the room where the story of his last poem "Mi ultimo adios" was narrated.
Now I wonder what these two were up to. Sorry I wasn't informed about the history of these two men.
The trip would be less fun is I didn't try riding on the kalesa. Aside from riding it around the fort, we also used it as transportation to get us to our hotel. Horsey horsies are a bunch of cuties!
We ended our last night roaming around solare and eating out at Hong Kong Chef :)
