Hi guys! First, I want you to know that this post is long overdue, but I'm posting it anyway.
So we had this mangrove planting project in an adopted site in Victorias City spearheaded by the KADIWA and BINHI (Youth Organization) of Iglesia Ni Cristo.. The project was named “Let’s groove with the mangroves” because.. well.. mangroves are groovy and so are we.. so we decided to groove together. Hahaha.

For all of you who don’t
know, I’m a frustrated environmentalist. Haha. I don’t know, I just had this
care for our environment because, maybe, I reckon that Earth is the only planet
where we can actually live in. Where else could we possibly evacuate when Earth
and everything in it is gone? Mars? Oh please, you’re not entertaining that
idea, do you? Hahaha.
Anyway, this project
is really helpful since the world we are living today is emaciated by typhoons,
earthquakes, landslides and other kinds of calamities. I am proud that Iglesia Ni Cristo’s
KADIWA and BINHI (young people) are going out of their comfort zones by helping our Nature and preventing casualties to rise if ever a storm surge or calamity hit the Island of Negros, particularly in Victorias.
(Here are the pictures)
The heat was really intense that time that it already burnt my skin. Nevertheless, we were still thankful that it didn't rain or else it would be hard for us to plant the mangroves :)
This is the parking port of Victorias City.
A numerous number of people participated in this project and this is my obviously failed panorama shot. lols
I wish I had a better picture of these great young people, but anyway..
Here are the Convergys' great employees. Hahaha.
Excited I am to plant those little trees but first, let me take a selfie. Heheheheh lol
I know that this little seedling will go a long way!
(Toiling...)
Go lovey, you can do it!
Hooray for my koikoi's first tree! Yeeeey!
It was not really hard as it may appear..
Hala, sige.
Eventually, I got tired so I decided to dig while sitting a little bit. Haha.
Oh look, the plant is already planted! Yeeeeepie! Hahaha.
Lord commanders of the Earth's watch. if you're a GOT fan, you'll know what I mean. Haha.
As we walked around
the area, I noticed that there were wastes thrown into the shore (as usual). Seriously
humans, we should stop throwing garbage in the streets and especially in the
ocean! It’s really true that your attitude towards the environment say
something about who you truly are. An irresponsible and undisciplined kinds of
human being. That might sound harsh but that’s reality. So next time, children,
throw your waste in its proper place :)

Photo Ops will always be present in an event like this, so..
Manman, me and koikoi's portrait with the signage or whatever you call that thing, hihihi.
"I am the King of the World" haha. So much sweg, koikoi.
I love these shots! I looked so happy with what I'm doing, hahaha. Very child like. Proud that I am part of this event and proud to be a member of IGLESIA NI CRISTO.
Thanks for these photos koikoi! :)

We don’t have to wait
for another disaster to fall upon us before we could take actions.
We should take
good care of our environment regardless of our race, social standing or whatnot
because after all we are living in the same roof (Our Ozone layer which is
getting thinner and thinner) and breathing the same air. The impact we have on
the environment today is making a big difference on the world of our posterity.
It’s our responsibility to care for our planet and ensure our future well-being.
I like this excerpt
from an environmentalist, and I’m just going to end this blog post by using her
entertainingly reflective words. And it says, “Human race probably isn’t going
to die out anytime soon – but we are using up resources faster than we can
replenish them.” True enough, we are eating up whatever our forefathers have
left us, leaving only scarce resources for the next generation to come. And
that is bad. This planet needs our help, I might sound a bit over the top but
whatever. You already know that. So help out! The best way to plant a tree or
help the environment in whatever way you can was 20 years ago, the second best
time is NOW.
I hope this blog somehow poked your conscience and would, in some way, mobilize you to start the change you want to see (Oh ha very LaSallian, haha) and begin caring for the environment which God has entrusted to us (and very INC-ish, haha).
Ciao!
xoxo
